1. They are designed by the “Godfather of River Cruising,” our Co-Founder Rudi Schreiner
Prior to co-founding AmaWaterways, Rudi Schreiner had a passion for design that drew him to architecture. In 1975, he designed his first river vessel, a raft, which he sailed down the Amazon River. Having started the European river cruise operations for most major river cruise lines in the US, Rudi – and his carefully thought-out designs – are the main reason our fleet has earned numerous awards, including the “Highest Rated River Cruise Ships in Europe” from Berlitz.
2. The Luxury of Space
Our ships offer the luxury of space for an average of just 150 guests. We have some of the largest staterooms on the rivers. In fact, our extraordinary AmaMagna offers spacious suites (with full balconies) ranging from 355 sq. ft to 710 sq. ft. In addition, our open-air Sun Decks are expansive, with space for a walking track, pool or whirlpool (or both on AmaMagna), as well as a bar, sitting area and ample space for our complimentary Wellness Program.
3. Multiple Dining Venues – Included in Your River Cruise Fare
Indulge in exquisite locally-sourced cuisine prepared by award-winning chefs for breakfast and lunch a la carte in The Main Restaurant or choose from diverse multi-course menus at dinner. Reserve one special evening at The Chef’s Table specialty restaurant. Enjoy a light lunch in the lounge or take your dish to the Sun Deck for fresh air and unobstructed views. For the ultimate culinary experience, join us on AmaMagna, featuring four unique restaurants.
4. Our Signature Innovations Lead the Way
In 2006, we were the first river cruise line to offer a complimentary fleet of bicycles on board, and in 2010, we introduced our signature view-enhancing twin-balcony staterooms to the world. Two years later, we debuted our first-ever Chef’s Table specialty restaurant, the only venue of its kind on the rivers. When AmaMagna launched in 2019, she brought with her our first onboard cinema, outdoor spin bikes and juice bar. We will continue to listen to guest feedback and stay at the pulse of travel trends to innovate our ships and enhance our onboard experience.
