AMAWATERWAYS PROMOTES ALEX PINELO AND DONNA COOK TO NEW ROLE AS DIRECTORS OF NATIONAL ACCOUNTS

Calabasas, CA - (Jan. 31, 2018) - AmaWaterways today announced the promotion of Alex Pinelo and Donna Cook. Both recently joined the company in other senior roles and have been appointed as directors of national accounts. The change comes at an exciting time for the company, which is experiencing outstanding growth and expansion across all markets heading into a New Year.

During Pinelo’s time at AmaWaterways, he has successfully overseen development of new Latin American markets and expanded the company’s existing relationships with the travel agent community throughout the region. He will retain the responsibility for this key initiative in his expanded role of director, national accounts.

Cook joined AmaWaterways in September 2017 after 14 years with Crystal Cruises in several senior roles in sales and operations. In her role as director of strategic initiatives for AmaWaterways, Cook oversaw new projects in key areas of revenue management and sales reporting and is thrilled to take on this new role in national accounts.

Pinelo and Cook will work closely with AmaWaterways 23 business development managers and sales coordinators across the U.S. and Canada to develop and execute strategic sales and marketing programs with key national account partners.

“AmaWaterways places tremendous value on the close relationships we have built with our national account partners., We are thrilled that Alex and Donna have taken on these roles and, along with their existing passion for our business, will bring their exceptional leadership skills to further develop this important segment of our network,” said Gary Murphy, co-owner and vice president of sales.

The year ahead looks to be a banner one for AmaWaterways, as the company debuts its newest vessel, AmaLea. Sister ship to AmaKristina, AmaLea welcomes 156 guests onboard to sail the Danube and seasonal Christmas Markets and Tulip Time itineraries. The ship features the line’s popular connecting staterooms and triple accommodations, unique signature twin-balconies, a swimming pool with swim-up bar, expanded fitness room, multiple dining venues and much more.

Perhaps even more exciting, 2019 will bring the largest fleet expansion since the company’s launch, welcoming three new ships. AmaWaterways’ revolutionary ship, AmaMagna, will be almost twice the width of traditional European river cruise ships, giving guests onboard more space than ever before to enjoy their river cruise experience. Additionally, the line will introduce AmaMora, sister ship to AmaLea and AmaKristina, which will sail the Rhine river. AmaDouro, sister to AmaVida, will be a welcome addition to the Douro River as the region’s popularity continues to grow.
