AMAWATERWAYS WELCOMES AMAKRISTINA TO EXPANDING EUROPEAN FLEET

Ideal for Active Travelers and Multigenerational Families, AmaKristina Sails Inaugural Voyage on the Rhine

Calabasas, CA - (Apr. 6, 2017) - AmaWaterways – known for having the highest-rated river cruise ships in Europe – today announced the inaugural voyage of its 19th ship, AmaKristina. Named after AmaWaterways’ Co-Owner and Executive Vice President Kristin Karst, AmaKristina joins the fleet as the company celebrates its 15th anniversary and continues its commitment to innovation and culinary excellence. The ship left Amsterdam on April 1 and will conclude her maiden voyage in Basel on April 8. The official christening ceremony – led by the vessel’s godmother, Karst – will take place on May 10 in Lahnstein.

“The arrival of every new ship for AmaWaterways is incredibly special, but this ship notably represents 15 years of inspired design and innovation,” said Rudi Schreiner, president and co-owner of AmaWaterways. “Our guests will love the luxurious amenities and spaciousness and style of the public areas and staterooms as they experience Europe’s finest river cruise destinations.”

Sister ship to the award-winning AmaViola and AmaStella, AmaKristina accommodates 158 guests and features connecting cabins and triple occupancy staterooms that are tailored specifically to the growing multigenerational family and group markets. Guests onboard enjoy access to a greater number of AmaWaterways’ unique signature twin-balcony (French and outside balconies) staterooms, which provide magnificent panoramic views. Outfitted in warm, colorful décor, the ship offers an array of communal spaces for socializing and three dining venues including The Chef’s Table – an intimate dining experience with an exquisite, multi-course tasting menu paired with hand-selected regional wines all at no additional cost. Guests may enjoy the comfortable sundeck with running track; heated pool and swim-up bar; convenient elevator with enhanced access to the lower deck and expanded fitness center; hair salon and spa; free Wi-Fi throughout the ship; in-room Entertainment-On-Demand system and complimentary beer and fine wine with lunch and dinner.

AmaKristina will play host to a variety of captivating Rhine River sailings between Amsterdam and Basel in 2017 including a Wine Themed cruise departing November 11 and Christmas Market cruises starting November 25.

In addition to showcasing the stunning Rhine River Gorge lined with medieval castle ruins, the seven-night Enchanting Rhine itinerary offers guests a choice of 21-guided included tours with many escorted hiking and biking options for the active traveler. Individual exploration is made easy with a fleet of complimentary bicycles carried onboard and pre- or post-city stays in Lucerne and Zurich are also available.
